Oysters with Limoncello Granita

TOTAL TIME: 3h25 minutes (includes cooling and freezing times)      |     SERVES: One Dozen

2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup TMD Limoncello
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (2 lemons)

Combine the water and sugar in a small pot. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool completely.

Stir in the Limoncello and lemon juice, then pour the mixture into a freezer-safe dish just big enough to hold the mixture in a shallow layer

Freeze the mixture, scraping every 30 minutes with a fork to break up the ice into small pieces, until all the liquid is frozen, about 2 to 3 hours.

Serve in a small, very cold bowl as a condiment for fresh oysters on the half-shell.
