Tamborine Mountain Distillery Shines Bright with new Tourism Gold Medal Win
In the wake of the tumultuous Christmas Day storms that battered Tamborine Mountain, there shines a glimmer of hope and triumph for one local establishment.
Tamborine Mountain Distillery has emerged victorious, clinching the Tourism Gold Medal at the esteemed 2023 Queensland Starlight Business Excellence Awards.
General Manager Gordon Chalmers expressed his elation, stating, "It's fantastic news after our worst month on record following the devastating Christmas Day storms that pummelled Tamborine Mountain."
The prestigious award was bestowed upon the distillery at a grand ceremony held at Brisbane City Hall on Sunday, 4th February. The event, a part of the Lunar New Year Festivities and Celebrations, saw the attendance of notable figures, including Brisbane's Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Opposition Leader David Crisafulli.
Nerissa Jiang, the Distillery's International Sales Manager, graciously accepted the award on behalf of Tamborine Mountain Distillery. The honour was presented by the Honourable Mark Furner, Minister for Agricultural Industry Development.
The significance of the award reverberated swiftly, as Tamborine Mountain Distillery experienced an immediate upsurge in success. The day following the win, the iconic Scenic Rim Distillery secured its largest single international order for its renowned Australian Wild Forest Plum Liqueur.
Gordon Chalmers remarked, "This one order to Asia was equal to a whole year of sales of this best-selling product. Again, what wonderful proof that 'every cloud has a silver lining."
