Anne Rutter - designer, artist

(best told in her own words ...)

“Born in Byron Bay (how cool is that!?), educated in Canberra, Uni’d in Sydney and graduated with a diploma in Graphic Arts & Photography, worked with an amazing team at ‘Children’s Creative Workshop’ in North Sydney illustrating kids' books and Marketing stuff, back packed ‘round the world a couple of times, married, came back and found everyone had jumped on the Computer Graphic band wagon!

I guess I just didn’t get it at the time, so I changed career paths and studied Fashion for 2 years before joining ‘Seafolly’ and then ‘Paradise Lines’: two of the major swimwear fashion houses in Australia.

Left the swim world to pursue my own range of clothes, specializing in Wedding attire!  Got bored with that, sewing can be very lonely!  Decided to put paints back onto paper, and then discovered I liked BIG art and started painting Murals on walls!   >>>

In 2003 made the move to QLD with the family
(new baby on board yay!) had the wonderful
opportunity to meet Alla & Michael in pursuit of work;
I was hoping to jump on their ’hand painting bottle’ team, actually!

Well, it got (one thousand times) better than that! 
We disappeared over to the U.K for a year and Michael tracked me down to ask if I would like to design the Australian Herbal Liqueur Label!

Book me up, I’d love to!  When we arrived back from
the U.K I was welcomed on board this incredible team at Tamborine Mountain Distillery to help in their boutique shop.  All I have to say about that is …. I have
the best job in the universe and I love it!”
